I have been facing problem  when I try to open OOB BI Report called "Project Overview Dashbaord" from inside the EPM. It shows blank screen when I open, If I try to refresh all connections then it gives me following error message:

It works fine if I download the file and open it from my desktop.

Hi Experts,

I have an old Project Server 2007 environment, now one of my project managers has an issue where she doesn't see all her projects on the project center page.

She has al the correct category and group permissions and is owner of the projects. I even made her an administrator to see if the projects show up, no results.

I checked if the views had any filters, not the case. Also, I created a new view and the projects don't show up.

The Projects do show up in Ms Project Professional 2007 and can be published by her.

What could be wrong here? I'm a bit rusty on my Project Server 2007 administration, but I do believe I have tried all options.

We have Project Server 2010 with December 2013 CU.

In our production system, when viewing the StatusApprovalsHistory page some users can see approvals from other Status Managers, it is not ALL other approvals, just approvals from some subset of projects. In our test environment, we don't see this occuring.

For instance, I am an administrator and do not typically accept task updates. However, when I look in the Status Approvals History, I see approvals for 32 different projects, most of which I have never accepted time for.

What could be causing this, and is there a way for me to ensure that a user only sees their history?

Hi all

I create a new Project Server group, choose a group from AD to sync with and klick save. Nothing seems to happen. After some time the page is closed, I am back in the groups list. No new group created. No visible error mesage.

When I edit an existing group the group remains unchanged.

Same issue with trusted sites and local intranet. URL is the one with default AAM.

Project Server 2010 does not have any issues in this environment.

Possible issue: large company with complex AD structure. Not even known, what kind of trusts exist.

ULS log shows some issues. Listed below.

Perhaps timeout? Where to increase? Can a SharePoint PeoplePicker configuration perhaps help here?

i am trying to call Project server Odata from a SharePoint workflow running on a custom list in the same site (PWA). If i run the query in the browser i can get the expected value. However when i run it in SharePoint workflow i get the following output:

Hello all,

I am currently having issues with the Connected SharePoint Sites page in Project Server 2013 on prem.  The installation is set to create new sites automatically upon first publish of a project.  Within the Connected SharePoints Sites page many of the Project Names have a blank Site Address field.  I can go the to Project Center click on any of the projects missing a Site Address and click on the Project Site button in the ribbon and get to the project site.  There are currently no errors being thrown, at least that I can clearly identify, to indicate an issue with this PDP.

I have two questions:

1) Is there a way to re-populate this list using a script so that all Projects have their corresponding Site Address?  Manually is not really an option there are just too many. 

2) What effect does this missing data have on the PWA instance?

Installation info:

App Server: MS Server 2008 R2 SP1, Sharepoint Enterprise 2013 SP1, Project Server 2013 SP1  Dec2014 CU applied

SQL Server: MS SQL 2008 R2

I'm looking to see if anyone has deployed a Project Server 2010/2013 instance with PKI authentication

1) Do I need ADFS to do SSO? Or is there another application/way to do this?
2) Project Server is not mentioned and I'm unsure if it is the same setup 

Example:  

User Adam goes to https://PS.corp.com =>
User Adam gets access to Project Server because:  Adam's certificate was read and it passed corp\adam to Project Server who is on the user list (username:corp\adam)

User Betty goes to https://PS.corp.com =>
User Betty gets deneid to Project Server because: Betty's certificate was read and it passed corp\betty to Project Server who is on the user list (username: corp\betty)

I'd REALLY appreciate any insight from anyone who has done a setup of Project Server with certificates/certificate based authentication - I'm finding a lot of SharePoint based answers and minimal project server based answers...

Hi,

The Convertto-SPProjectDatabase cmdlet fails with "User does not have permission to perform this action". The ULS logs show that failure occurs after the Draft migration has completed successfully and the Published migration is beginning. It's attempting to exec sp_addlinkedserver, which the install account doesn't have SQL Server permissions to do. I don't understand why a linked server is required since all of the databases are on the same SQL Server. Does anyone know what is going on here?

We recently deployed the following for our new SharePoint 2013 farm:

2 SQL server (alwaysOn config)

2 application servers

2 WFE

1 SQL for Dedicated Search

2 WFE for Dedicated Search

2 Applications Servers for Dedicated Search.

After purchasing a company that uses Project 2013 heavily we are now looking at deploying Project 2013 using our new 2013 SharePoint farm.  My question is what is the recommended additional servers that would needed to be deployed to the existing farm?

I'm testing the Approval Rules in PWA 2013. With the system account, I'm able to select some resources in order to give them an automatic approval.

But if I use the account of another administrator, the resource list is blank: nobody!

I want to test Approvals with or without Rules. So I created a small project with 4 tasks and a resource on each task.

Until today, the Timesheets worked fine in this environment: Project Sever 2013 on prem.

Today the new project and assignments appear in the Project Center of each resource, in the Resource assignments view, in the resource availability view... in each resource instance.

but they don't  appear in any timesheet!

What did I miss?

I am a database administrator for a company and MS Project Server is down and I cannot get it back working.  I have never worked with Project Server before and do not have much knowledge of the application. 

We do not know what happened, but we think that there was a MS Windows Patch installed and a out of order reboot as well as some Active Directory hardening. 

Now when we try to use the URL we get either Webpage cannot be found 404 or The website cannot  display the page 500 errors. 

I can only tell you want is working:

All the SQL database with the exception of Project Server Reports are on line and working.  Reports database is working, but I had to restore to an older version if the db

The SPFARM account is working, we are able to log into the server with that account just fine

The SPFARM account has full sysadmin access to all SQL instances

The services are running and using the spfarm account although I have found some ProjectServer Services disabled, so I enabled them and started

The set up is as follows

There are two web servers

There are two application servers

There are two db server

In the documentation they state that the server are load balanced, but I can tell you that the db servers are not, there is no clustering or mirroring.  One db server has what looks like several sharepoint databases including the WSS_Content db and db02 has the 4 primary projectserver databases

Nothing is working and I just don’t know where to start.  I ensured the services are running and the db’s are on line.  I have hunted down several errors in the windows application log, but nothing has helped.

I am using Project Server 2007. We are planing to migrate few Local Custom Fields to Enterprise Fields using Add Field to Enterprise option. Since we are unable to create Reports( for a particular set of projects) having Local Custom Fields which are only available in Publish Database and not available in Reporting Database.

My question is: How will it affect other projects? After migration, will all the values updated to Reporting DB?
