I downloaded the July Cumulative Update kb3115291 and tried to run it. The first time I ran the command

ubersrvprj2013-kb3115291-fullfile-x64-glb.exe

It had me agree to the licensing terms and then I got the message "The expected version of the product was not found on the system".

I did some googling and tried the command

ubersrvprj2013-kb3115291-fullfile-x64-glb.exe PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1

It got past licensing terms screen again but now it is just sitting doing nothing, no messages, no progress. It has been over an hour and nothing has moved.

I have the following files in the folder where I am running the command:

ubersrvprj2013-kb3115291-fullfile-x64-glb.exe

ubersrvprj_1.cab

ubersrvprj_2.cab

Am I doing something wrong?  Any idea what to do about the "Expected version of the product not found" message?

I can create a test environment of Project Server with the backups of databases of an instance of Project Server at another domain.

First, I restore databases at new SQL Server, and I assign permissions at user of new domain.

I mount the content databases at new web application.

I mount project database  with Mount-SPProjectDatabase

I mount instance Project server with Mount-SPProjectWebInstance

All seems OK but I go to http://url/pwa I got error Page can´t no be displayed.

Url is the same in both domains.

I try mount the instance through the Central Administration and I got the error in Event viewer ...

I know this question is really coming from the past for most people, but here I go: to completly archive my projects managed with Project Server 2007, I need to close to "no" my summary task within all my projects. And I just can't. Any idea? We never applied any service pack on EPM 2007 over here, and I pretty sure this has been solved within a service pack of a previous version of EPM or MS Project... We recently migrated from Project Server 2010 to Project Server 2013.

We have two performance problems that plague us. They come and go, seemingly randomly. Efforts by inhouse SQLServer DBAs and system techs, Microsoft Premier and other MS partners to discover the bottlenecks have been futile.

1) Project Publish gets stuck in Reporting (Project Publish) step - can take up to 15 minutes. At other times, the same project will publish all its steps, including that one, in a minute. It is not always the same project. It can be one with a 20 task schedule or one with a 300 task schedule.

2) We have three SSRS reports that pull together data from SP List on Project Site (Risks, Issues), PDP data (out of box and custom fields), and the project schedule. These three reports sometimes (especially one of them) take up to 10 minutes to run. But usually, the same report for the same project will run in less than four (4) seconds.

We've run traces and checked system logs for load, blocks, etc. The SQLServer databases have been reviewed and tuned for best practices. The web/app servers and the DB server (all VMs) barely blink with the workload from our users.

There seems to be no consistent time of day when the problems occur.

The problem will occur with only one or two users on the system.

I've created a custom project site template in 2013 as we need a few web parts not on the default project site. I used the default site as the base, added the web parts, and saved. All looked ok. However, after I attach to the basic project plan EPT, create a new project, then try to create a project site on publish, it always fails. I even tried using the default and changing nothing except the name and still it fails. I get the error message below which seems to indicate there are special characters in the name, but I triple checked and there is not (template name is CsProjectSiteTemplate151116). Strange the default template works fine, but any other template created, even an exact duplicate of the default, fails. Anybody got any ideas as to what I am doing wrong???????

Hello All

When editing a Manage Group in Project Server 2013, the group name is blank in the edit form.

The group names are listed when you first go into project manage groups. However when you click on the group name to make changes, the group name is blank.

I also noticed that this occurs for two other groups and these same groups have an active directory sync associated with team.

Has anyone seen this before and found a solution?

We have Project Server on premises. So, not Project Online. The last time we tried to switch permission mode to Project Server permission mode the admin could not gain access to the server, and hence, give access to other users.

I have seen some posts on this forum, such as this one: (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b199ea8c-0d67-4678-b21d-2a0bb873d427/when-we-are-changing-the-permission-mode-from-sharepoint-to-project-server-mode-not-able-to-set?forum=projectonline) but don't think that they describe in enough detail the actions to undertake, as admin, to gain access to Project Server 2013 after the change. I have also seen posts explaining how you should just type -AdministratorAccount code to your permission changing code and that that will give you access.

Can anybody who has had experience with this describe what should an admin do to have access when changing the mode from SharePoint to Project Server?

I installed Project Server 2016.  When I go to OLAP database management and click Build, I get an error:

Error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server ServerName. Error: A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running.

Any idea why?  My SQL Server 2014 is installed as a named instance with an alias.  Sharepoint can connect to it fine.

I installed Project Server 2016 and after that my coworker created a connection between MS Project Professional and imported mpp file to our pwa site (although I'm not sure that exact steps he followed).  Now when we click on that prroject in the pwa site we get the following error message:

bucketHash:F3E24C3C] Exception occured in method 'PWA.GetProjectDrilldownInformation', Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.   

After that it says :

LastError=GeneralUnhandledException Instructions: Pass this into PSClientError constructor to access all error information

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?  Maybe there is a field in MS Project that does not exist in Project server or vice versa?  How can I find out more information about the issue?  I already have verbose logging turn on but it did not provide any other details on this error.

I created a pwa site using (Project Server 2016):

New-SPweb -URL <url> -Template pwa#0

but when I click on Reports I get a message "Business Intelligence Center does not exist".  Any idea why?  How do I create it?

I knew that when someone open a project from Project Professional,it opens  it in their local region based on their settings in the language/Region settings in the MPP. But is there any way to change the Date/Time format in the PWA based on Region wise.

Please suggest me if there is any way to achieve it.

After installing Project server 2016 on SP 2016 and imported a project successfully, I can only open the imported project using project professional client but whenever I tried to open the project via the browser I get a correlation ID: 857b989d-cd46-4013-3e20-59c141a73642. Below are the details of the error using ULS. Can someone help me understand what is going on and how to resolve the problem

I noticed a strange behavior.  When I access my pwa site via a URL that uses the server name e.g.

http://servername:26829/sites/MyPWASite/PWAReports/Forms/AllItems.aspx

Then I can see a page that says "pwa reports" and the URL looks like this:

http://servername:26829/sites/MyPWASite/PWAReports/Forms/AllItems.aspx

But when I access the same site via the IP address:

http://10.250.0.200:26829/sites/MyPWASite/default.aspx

and click on Reports, I see "Business Intelligence Center does not exist" and the URL is:

http://10.250.0.200:26829/sites/MyPWASite/_layouts/15/pwa/ReportCenter/ReportCenterHome.aspx

Why is the behavior different?  My web application has alternate access mappings configured for both server name and IP address.

the default SharePoint security groups that are created in SharePoint permissions right after PWA creation were deleted.

Project Managers for Project Web App

Team Members for Project Web App

Team Leads for Project Web App

Style Resouce Readers

Restricted Readers

etc.

After some time in Project Server permissions it has been decided to go back again to SharePoint permissions but those groups are not automatically recreated. This change has been motivated because of the Novembre 2014 CU update, this update deletes the Visitors members when a project has resources and just after publishing.

Is there a way to rebuild those default SharePoint security groups back?

I'm trying to configure secure store service on my Sharepoint environment. I did all the steps mentioned in microsoft guide. However, when I try to access Secure Store Service instance from Central Administration -> Application Management -> Manage Service Applications -> Secure Store Service Application instance, it gives me 

Cannot complete this action as the Secure Store Shared Service is not responding. Please contact your administrator.

So I decided to view ULS log to more digging and found following log :

I've checked certificate assigned to Sharepoint Web Service and it seems ok. The certificate used in Sharepoint Web Service is it's own certificate. Also restart service several times and recreated service instance several times. But any of them didn't make it work. Please share your thoughts on this.

Our companu purchase the some license for Microsoft Project online and we have completed the site srtting by using domain as : XXXXXXXX.onmicrosoft.com.

However, we cannot find any way to input te user e-mail addresss s that those email alert and notification cannot use.

Pleaese help where we can input the e-mail address as theo log in user name is not a real e-mail address at all.

Currently I am facing issue with Project Site. I have some tasks in schedule page in PWA. But when I am coming to project site, there I am not able to find those tasks in Task list.

But the moment I am building the team for the project in pwa with any random users, the task list starts showing the tasks defined in schedule page. Can anybody please help me to understand this.
