Provisioning Project Sites outside of the PWA site collection.

Here's a question I got recently. Is it possible to have a PWA site collection with projects but the project sites in another site collection that are linked to these projects in the PWA site collection?

I am aware of the need for CAL licenses for everyone that needs to view the Project Site. This isn't an issue: revering to:

But now I want to know, is it at all possible to have a PWA site collection with projects but the project sites in another site collection that are linked to these projects in the PWA site collection?

I would like to have the issues and risks active in these project sites that are visible in the Project center views (oob functionality when the site is created within PWA) and I want to have the tasks page populated from the project within PWA.

I will need a new project site created for each of the projects created within Project server.
